Learn about AASECT

For more than 10 years, I’ve provided therapy with one primary goal: creating a space where people can honestly explore their thoughts, emotions, fears, and experiences in a way that fosters understanding, self-acceptance, and lasting growth. Every person who begins therapy has a different story. What brings one person to therapy may be entirely different from what brings the next. While the concerns my clients bring to session vary, the experience of working with me is grounded in a few consistent principles.

Our work together will be free from blame, judgment, and criticism.

You’ll find a therapeutic relationship that is honest, direct, compassionate, and—like anything meaningful—challenging. I won’t tell you how to live your life or offer quick advice; there are plenty of people and platforms that already do that. My role is to help you better understand yourself, recognize the patterns shaping your life and relationships, and develop the clarity and confidence to make choices that align with the person you want to become.

Generally speaking, I am not the type of therapist that wants to keep you (or the relationship) in therapy forever. I am committed to providing high-quality treatment to help you meet your goals. For some people, they meet their goals after only a handful of sessions; others benefit from a longer course of therapy.

Is this a good fit?

Working with me requires a foundation of mental health stability, as there is a strong emphasis on building emotional understanding, insight, and relationship skills. This is incredibly difficult to do with confounding or underlying concerns. It is common for my clients to have a generalized therapist in addition to working with me.

If, after our initial meeting, I believe a different therapy or specialist (e.g., trauma-intensive, drug/alcohol) may be needed, I will assist with finding referrals.
